Windows 10 Education for Students

As part of the “Windows Student Use Benefit Program”, Microsoft offer one single license of “Windows 10 Education” to students of the University of Zurich free of charge, as the University of Zurich has procured licenses to use Windows operating systems on a university-wide basis as part of the Campus contract. “Windows 10 Education” can be used on the licensed device during a student’s time at the university as well as after graduation. Unfortunately, employees cannot benefit from this offer, as Microsoft explicitly and exclusively provides this offer to students.

Microsoft has commissioned the Canadian company Kivuto Solutions, Inc. to run the online store for purchasing the “Windows Student Use Benefit Program”, including the distribution of the individual license keys. The IT department of the University of Zurich is only responsible for the authentication of users via AAI accounts. Students can find “Windows 10 Education” in the online store under the “Microsoft” menu item (see picture).
