Safe Exam Browser (SEB)

Safe Exam Browser (SEB) is a browser software (like Google Chrome or Firefox) which is installed locally on a device. An SEB exam can only be accessed with the Safe Exam Browser. This puts the device into a "kiosk mode" in which all access to functions, programs, documents and websites which have not explicitly been approved for the exam is blocked. At the end of the exam, the SEB can be closed and access to the device and its functions is unrestricted again.

To avoid technical issues on the day of the exam, we strongly recommend that SEB-exam participants install the software on their device at least 14 days before the day of the exam and take part in the functional test and mock exam. The links are in the exam overview.

We recommend saving and closing unsaved files before starting the SEB to avoid their loss.
