Virtual Private Network (VPN)
VPN – Virtual Private Network
Authentication is not the same as encryption. When you connect to public networks, you may authenticate with a password, but traffic remains unencrypted. By using a VPN connection, university members will even have secure access to our network outside the UZH buildings – just as if they were on the campus and accessing the UZH network directly.
Why Use a VPN?
After establishing a VPN connection, you can access restricted services (e.g. access to paid libraries, journals, etc.), as well as internal institute resources.
