What if I Don’t Want to Be Recorded?
- If you no longer want a recording, you must actively notify us.
Otherwise, the camera will start automatically at the scheduled time. An empty room could be used accidentally—the people in it would then be recorded without their knowledge, which constitutes a violation of personal rights.
Procedure
Please inform AV Services of the date on which you no longer want recordings to be made. The easiest way to do this is to reply to the confirmation email for your order or quote the ticket number.
If you have deleted the confirmation email, please provide the following information:
- Room, date, and time
- Name or number of the lecture
Note: If you are still using the room, you can let the recording run and then choose not to publish it.
Event in a Different Room – What to Do?
In this case, you must also take action: otherwise, the camera will continue to record in the old room as planned. If the room is reassigned, other people could be recorded there without being noticed.
Procedure
Notify AV Services when your event will be moved to the new room and which room will be used.
Ideally, reply to the confirmation email or quote the ticket number.
If you have deleted the email, please provide the following information:
- Room, date, and time
- Name or number of the lecture
Important: Confirmation of the lecture hall allocation is not sufficient – only notification to AV Services ensures that the recording will be adjusted.
How Do I Add Subtitles to a Podcast or Video?
On SWITCHcast, you can upload subtitle files in .srt, .dfxp, or .vtt format and show or hide them in the player.
Alternatively, you can add subtitles directly to videos you have created yourself using editing software.
These subtitles are then permanently integrated into the video and cannot be hidden.
