Videos in PowerPoint Presentations

The right file format for video files in PowerPoint presentations

It is possible that you have a video file in a file format (codec) that can be played in a media player but is not supported by PowerPoint.

Recommendations for videos in PowerPoint presentations:

In PowerPoint 2013 and later and in PowerPoint 2016 for Mac, you should use MP4 files encoded with H.264 video (also known as MPEG-4 AVC) and AAC audio for optimal video playback. File extension .mp4
