UZH Software Portal

The UZH Software Portal is an online platform provided by the University of Zurich. You can use this portal to obtain software for your work.

  • Software offerings: Office programs, statistics software, graphics programs, development tools, and more.
  • Licenses: The software is generally available as freeware or under a campus license, which means you can use it free of charge. If you see the category «Order Software» in the UZH Software Portal, you can also order programs that are subject to a fee.
  • Access: To use the software portal, you must log in with your UZH AD (Active Directory) login.
  • Usage rights: Usage rights vary and are generally limited to the duration of your studies or employment at the university.
  • Technical requirements: For security reasons, the software offered in the portal requires an operating system that is currently supported by the manufacturers (Microsoft and Apple).

Sigining in to the UZH software portal

  1. Go to https://campussoft.uzh.ch.
  2. Click on «UZH-Login».
  3. Enter your email address and click on «Next».
  4. Enter your AD password and click on «Sign in».

First login - AppsAnywhere

  • When logging in for the first time on your personal computer, click on the button:
    «It's my first time using AppsAnywhere on this device. Let's go.»
    Follow the instructions provided by the program.

The AppsAnywhere program uses your login and operating system to check which software from the portal is available for you to use.

If you work with a self-managed computer, the program will be offered for installation after you log in to the UZH software portal for the first time.

If you work with a computer that is managed by the Central IT Services or the institutes with shared support, the program is already preinstalled.

Receive support

There are different support levels depending on the software and device type. The corresponding support level is specified for each product in the software portal:   

   0: No support 
   1: Installation support (only for managed devices) 
   2: Installation support (for managed and privately used devices (BYOD; bring your own devices))
   3: Application support

Installation support helps you until the software is working on your device.
Application support helps you with questions about using the software.
